Sure Start South Armagh is a local project for families in the South Armagh area with at least one pre-school child or mother, fathers-to-be who live in one of the following seven designated wards in South Armagh Bessbrook, Camlough, Creggan, Crossmaglen, Cullyhanna, Derrymore, Newtownhamilton, Silverbridge.
Services are offered both in your own home and in local venues such as community centres. All Sure Start services are FREE and STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL..

Sure Start South Armagh multi-disciplinary staff team consist of a range of professionals including: Health Visitors, Midwife, Speech and Languages Therapists, Parenting Worker, Project Workers, Early Years team, an Occupational Therapist, Community Engagement Worker, Outreach Workers and a Community Health Promotion worker. Sure Start South Armagh is a community led programme, with programmes designed specifically to reflect and respond to local needs, our management board consists of representatives from local community, voluntary and statutory organisations. The project welcomes parent’s involvement and has established a parent’s forum so that parents/carers can offer suggestions on new and existing programmes.

What happens once I register with Sure Start?
After you register all families are offered a home visit, the purpose of this visit is to tell you all about our services and to give you a chance to ask us questions or offer suggestions on programmes. This home visit is not compulsory but many of our families have said it was a great way to find out all the information they needed about Sure Start. Your contact details are added to our secure database and you will receive our bi monthly newsletter outlining our upcoming programmes and events.
