Comments from families on Sure Start:

  • Comment from single father
Just to let you know that I passed my driving test this morning.  A big thanks to Sure Start for getting me onto the course that allowed me to get to this point.  I’ve come a long way but people like you (Keith) have helped me so I’m grateful.  Your advice has always been appreciated.
  • Comment from family who were de-registered from Sure Start as youngest child started primary one
We felt so lucky to be a part of Sure Start.  We were actually sad to get this letter as the services you provide are excellent.  A brilliant organisation we enjoyed being a part of.    A real encouragement and support to meet other parents.  Thank you all.
  • Comment from parent who received home-based support
You were my lifeline, and helped us through a difficult time.  The support was great, just knowing you were calling out to help with the boys and their feeds, playing with them etc.  To have someone to talk to was a great help in so many ways.  When just listening to me helped me get through a really bad patch.  I don’t think you ever realised how grateful we are to you and to Sure Start for having such kind and caring people to help others.
  • Comment from mother who received Health Visiting service
Thank you for all your help and support throughout this last year.  As a first time mum it has been invaluable and I have nee been hesitant inpicking up the phone for advice.  I am very lucky to have had such a caring and helpful Health Visitor and am sad to be saying goodbye.  Thanks again.
  • Comment from parent of child who attended ‘In Tune’ 2YOP
Me and my son had grew very fond of the Sure Start ‘In Tune’ staff.  They have been fantastic in helping my son come out of his wee shell, and any worries I had they were always able to help advise me.  My son has settled easy and well in nursery and it’s all because of Sure Start and staff.
  • Comment from Nursery Principal on the children that had attended ‘In Tune’ 2YOP and now attend Nursery
The children settled quickly into routine.  They were able to form friendships with other children with ease.  Their parents had also formed relationships with others from the group.
