Introduction:

South Belfast Sure Start provides a wide range of play activities and support for children under four and their families, as well as mums and dads to be.

  • Blackstaff
  • Botanic
  • Minnowburn
  • Shaftesbury
  • Upper Malone

 

Location of Sure Start Project:

South Belfast Sure Start services are available to all families who have (or are expecting) at least one child who has not yet reached their fourth birthday and who live in one of the following areas:

  • Taughmonagh and Benmore
  • Village/Donegall Road
  • Sandy Row
  • Donegall Pass
  • Markets
  • Lower Ormeau and Holy Lands
  • Ballynafeigh
  • Belvoir and Milltown

Services are also available to all Chinese families with a pre-school child who live in any part of Greater Belfast.

 

Services on Offer:

  • Parenting programmes/courses
  • Family support and play programmes (in own home)
  • Parent and Toddler groups
  • Crèches and Programmes for 2-3 Year Olds
  • Home Start volunteer support (in own home)
  • Speech and Language outreach support
  • Support for children with disabilities or special needs
  • Support for breastfeeding mothers
  • Dental Fun Packs and Bookstart packs for children

Services will develop and change over time, depending on what parents and carers of children tell us they want.

What happens once I register with Sure Start?

You will be contacted by your local key worker who will arrange to meet you and give you all the information about services and activities in your community.
